It all starts with you. To make a difference we must make a commitment to do something every day that just might make a difference in someones life.
We can make a choice to do things both large and small, for others and ourselves, every day if we choose to and it is surprisingly simple to do just that.
See the good in people and help them.
“I look only to the good qualities of men. Not being faultless myself, I won't presume to probe into the faults of others.”
“Man becomes great exactly in the degree in which he works for the welfare of his fellow-men.”
“I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles; but today it means getting along with people.”
Gandhi
There is pretty much always something good in people. And things that may not be so good. But you can choose what things to focus on. And if you want improvement then focusing on the good in people is a useful choice. It also makes life easier for you as your world and relationships become more pleasant and positive.
And when you see the good in people it becomes easier to motivate yourself to be of service to them. By being of service to other people, by giving them value you not only make their lives better. Over time you tend to get what you give. And the people you help may feel more inclined to help other people. And so you, together, create an upward spiral of positive change that grows and becomes stronger.
By strengthening your social skills you can become a more influential person and you will make this upward spiral even stronger. A few articles that may provide you with useful advice in that department are "Do You Make These 10 Mistakes in a Conversation?" and Dale Carnegie's "Top 10 Tips for Improving Your Social Skills."
The point we are trying to make here is, as a social network participant we all could post insignificant little quotes or the fun video of the day and those things can be momentarily enjoyable but at the end of the day if just one little connection, or comment you have posted, just one thing that might improve the life of someone else then this all is so worth while. It only takes a small amount of effort to make a huge difference in the world in someones life and you can make a difference by learning to use your social influence on the Webigo network.
We all have things that we care about and something as small as caring about something can change the way we interact with others on social networks. Whether you have a half-joking comment about politics, or a probing curiosity about health, or a love for animals: these seemingly small ideas just might shape the fate of others you interact with. The ongoing transformation of words to actions, actions to habits, habits to character , and character to destiny, is always following us –what you do and portray through your social connections is up to you and you have to decide if you want to make a difference in this world one post at a time.
